This week is set to be a scorcher and while the city may at present feel like a giant hair dryer, there are plenty of places with a cool coastal breeze that you can escape to by the time Saturday rolls around. For those that live in London, making it through the week is the main goal – tumbling through life in a coffee-fuelled haze. This often means that there’s not much time to think about how the most can be made of this unusually fine June weather. But for Londoners with a love of sand, sun(ish) and salty sea air, a last-minute day out at the seaside is within easy grasp. Both teams are loaded with underclassmen at key spots, from the quarterbacks (Trevor Lawrence and Tua Tagovailoa) to the tailbacks (Travis Etienne and Najee Harris) to the never-ending talent on the lines of scrimmage. Before we get to the Hotline’s ridiculously-early top 25 for next season, a few themes to ponder through the offseason: * Which transfer quarterback will have the greatest impact on his team and his conference. Washington, Missouri, Northwestern, USF, Ohio … [Read more...] about The Hotline’s ridiculously-early top 25 for the 2019 season: Can anyone challenge Clemson and Alabama?
To be fair, there’s just such an incredible diversity of places to visit in Northern England that a trip could be enjoyed assembling any number of different cities and towns. I just happened to visit Manchester and York, which is what I want to share today. Although they’re separated by a short and easy 1-hour train ride, the two cities could not be more different, offering a great balance for would-be travelers. York I always knew I’d love but Manchester won me over when, frankly, I wasn’t so sure. Together they’re a fun way to explore Northern England as a stand-alone trip, or added to a longer adventure. I was traveling in England following a conference sponsored by VisitBritain but, as always, all thoughts and opinions are entirely my own. Manchester Although Manchester’s roots date back to Roman times, most of us know it for its importance during the Industrial Revolution. Thanks to a boom in the textile industry, Manchester became the … [Read more...] about One Trip, Two Cities: Experiencing the Best of Manchester & York
