7 Under the Radar UNESCO World Heritage Sites I Love to Visit
I don’t normally make it the focus of my travels, if there’s an opportunity for me to visit a UNESCO World Heritage Site, I always make sure I stop. In 1972 the UN, through the UNESCO World Heritage Committee, began recognizing important sites around the world that they consider vital in order to maintain the cultural and natural heritage we have all inherited. Even though I haven’t even scratched the surface of visiting the more than 1,000 sites in every corner of the planet, I have been to quite a few and think every traveler should make a point to visit them if they can. To show the width and breadth of this amazing collection of sites, today I want to share some that while impressive, mostly fly under the tourism radar and hopefully in the process this list will encourage your own UNESCO themed visits in the future. This year I’m working with Allianz Travel Insurance to share my thoughts about travel, what makes me happy when I explore the world and why I … [Read more...] about 7 Under the Radar UNESCO World Heritage Sites I Love to Visit
6 Luxury Villas In St. Barts That Will Take Your Breath Away
HOME » LIFESTYLE » 6 Luxury Villas In St. Barts That Will Take Your Breath Away When we think of the best vacation spots in the world, most people cycle between popular coastal vacation areas. That said, those places are deserving of recognition as they have proven to stand the test of time as tourists hot spots. Formally known as Saint Barthélemy, this vacation spot stands out above the rest with its white-sandy beaches and warm weather despite being situated amongst the popular Caribbean … [Read more...] about 6 Luxury Villas In St. Barts That Will Take Your Breath Away

By Ryan Connolly on Oct 14, 2019 in Attractions, Europe, Events, Going Out, Iceland, Regions, Travel Miscellany, Western Europe There are few things more magical than hunting down the Northern Lights in Iceland… when you’re successful! But for every great story heard from a friend who witnessed the green and pink dancing curtains 3 nights in a row, there’s the misery tale from another friend who was driven around in a big bus night after night searching out a moment of clear skies in an otherwise wet, windy and cloudy night. With nothing to show for it other than a dent in their bank balance and some numb toes. So I’ve decided to create this month’s blog post as a kind of, ‘how to avoid disappointment’ when hunting for the Northern Lights in Iceland. The best time to see the Northern Lights in Iceland (being dark is just one factor) The short version is, if it’s dark there’s a chance! Effectively once the midnight sun bows its … [Read more...] about The Northern Lights in Iceland: how to avoid disappointment
