An arctic air mass is roaring out of the West Coast today, leaving room for a weak high-pressure system that will bring mostly quiet weather on Wednesday. But just over the western sky, a low-pressure system is spinning toward California. Clouds will roll into the Peninsula this afternoon and blanket most of the Bay Area by tonight. Northwest winds will then steadily pick up on Thursday as the system curls into the Golden State, hoisting chances for rain across the wider Bay Area as early as midnight on Friday. This will mark the start of two rounds of rain, snow and winds that will impact Northern California over the weekend. A "larger than life" mum took her own life on Christmas Day, said her family as they rally to support her nine-year-old son. Jordan Carter, 28, was tragically found at her home in Plymouth, Devon at around 8.30pm. Police were called to the property on December 25 - the day before her birthday - and are not treating the death as suspicious. Jordan's mum, Cheryl Carter, has now paid tribute to her beloved daughter, and urged anyone who is struggling to reach out. She is raising money for her grandson, Kai, to put in a trust fund for when he turns 18.
