Top-ranked Dons live up to billing

Having to face Cathedral Catholic High, the top-ranked girls volleyball team in the San Diego Section, is a pressure-packed assignment.Just ask La Jolla.Once again, visiting Cathedral swept aside the No. 3 Vikings 25-19, 25-19, 25-18 in a Western League match closer than the scores showed on Tuesday.The victory for the Dons (24-4, 4-0) was their fourth straight this season, but it goes way beyond that when it comes to the Vikings. The St. Nicholas School team mark their names in global contest

Vietnamese students, when led the right way, are gradually proving their proficiency. Recently, the St. Nicholas International School team made it to Sydney to participate in the World Scholar’s Cup 2019 with over 30,000 students from 70 countries, triumphing with 19 medals and now heading to Yale. Nguyen Quynh Phuong, Tran Van Hung, and Van Tuan Nam are the three students of the St. Nicholas International School (SNS) team that succeeded with superior performance at the Danang round of Cup. At the Sydney Global Round of the World Scholar’s Cup 2019, they had an opportunity to explore different aspects of a global competition titled “A World on the Margins” in four intense sessions. In the first session called Scholar’s Bowl, participants have to answer increasingly challenging questions within a limited time. Hanoi, Saigon not very smart, finds study

The southern city is in 65th place and Hanoi in 66th in the Smart City Index compiled by Swiss business school International Institute for Management Development and the Singapore University of Technology and Design. They measured 102 cities around the world based on five criteria: health and safety, mobility, activities, opportunities, and governance that focuses on how citizens perceive the scope and impact of efforts to make their cities smart, balancing economic and technological aspects with humane dimensions. Vietnam's two major cities trail Singapore (1st), Taipei (7th), Hong Kong (37th), and Seoul (47th). But they rank above Kuala Lumpur (70th), Bangkok (75th), Jakarta (81st), and Manila (94th). Singapore is the world's smartest city, performing well in how services are made available to its citizens and the impact of technologies on citizens' daily lives.
