RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Amber Heard's lawyers have asked a judge to throw out the $10.35 million verdict against her in the defamation case filed by ex-husband Johnny Depp, arguing that the verdict was not supported by the evidence and that one of the jurors may not have been properly vetted by the court. In post-trial motions filed Friday, Heard's attorneys call the jury's June 1 award of $10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages to Depp “excessive” and “indefensible.” They ask the judge to set aside the verdict and dismiss Depp's lawsuit or order a new trial. Immediately after the verdict, the judge reduced the compensatory damages to $350,000 under a state cap. Depp sued Heard for libel in Fairfax County Circuit Court over a December 2018 op-ed she wrote in The Washington Post describing herself as “a public figure representing domestic abuse.” Depp's lawyers alleged he was defamed by the article even though it never mentioned him by name. THIS is the chilling moment Rikki Neave's killer smirked and told his mum "I'll be OK" as he was arrested for murdering the six-year-old. James Watson was just 13 when he strangled Rikki just five minutes from his home in Peterborough, Cambs , in 1994. He then "deliberately posed" the naked youngster into a "star shape with outstretched arms and his legs placed wide apart" for his sexual gratification. Chillingly, Watson stayed with Rikki's body for an hour before leaving the youngster uncovered in woodland. Rikki's mum Ruth Neave later stood trial for his murder but was cleared - leading to a cold case mystery. Never-before-seen police bodycam footage shows the moment Watson was arrested for murdering the youngster 22 years later. The clip, which will appear in tomorrow's episode of 24 Hours in Police Custody on Channel 4, reveals how eerily calm the killer was. Best Adjustable Beds of 2022 as Rated by Experts
(Ad) Adjustable beds are just what the term implies, beds that can be adjusted by raising and lowering parts of the frame’s surface underneath the mattress. Some adjustable beds also possess adjustable heights, offering further potential for sleeper customization. Angling the mattress with an adjustable bed can increase the potential for the sleeper’s comfort, creating more pressure relief and greater weightlessness. This could be achieved through means as simple as lowering pressure or providing extra comfort through massages and such. Or it could be more serious, when the adjustable bed can reduce symptoms of a medical condition. For example, back pain is one common ailment that an adjustable bed can ease or eliminate simply by setting up the mattress in a position that significantly reduces the pressure on the spine. McDonald’s warning as drivers face £200 fine & 6 points on their licence for common mistake at drive-thru
MCDONALD's customers are being warned over a common drive-thru mistake which carries a penalty of a £200 fine and six licence points. Motorists stopping at a McDonald's or KFC drive-thru for a takeaway must make sure they bring cash or a card instead of relying on Apple Pay. That's because the app is installed on a phone - which can't be used at all by a driver when the engine is running. According to new Highway Code rules brought in last month, drivers can't even tap their phones while behind the wheel. It's something many motorists wouldn't even think about. One in ten Brits are now estimated to use their phone to pay for items at the drive-thru or petrol stations.
