On Friday, 18 months after his last game in a Utah Jazz jersey, Gordon Hayward made his long-anticipated return to Salt Lake City. Hayward played his first seven NBA seasons with the Jazz, before signing with the Celtics in the 2017 offseason. The All-Star forward missed the team’s game in Utah last season after breaking his ankle in his first game with the Celtics. Friday night’s game was Hayward’s first back in Utah since leaving for Boston, and although the team released a brief tribute video, the still-aggrieved home crowd was far less welcoming. From the pregame warmups to the team introductions to every time he touched the ball during the game, Hayward heard it from the Jazz faithful. SALT LAKE CITY — Utah police say a Greyhound bus passenger got behind the wheel and steered the bus to safety after the driver passed out on the highway. The Utah Highway Patrol says the passenger took over Friday morning as the driver suffered a medical problem and began to lose consciousness while driving on Interstate 15 south of Salt Lake City. Trooper Colton Freckleton says the unidentified person brought the bus to a stop along the side of the highway. About 20 people were on board and no one was hurt. The bus driver was taken to a hospital. Troopers are investigating whether the driver was impaired.
