■ Andrew Luck proved a lot of doubters wrong last year when he returned from a mysterious shoulder injury to play all 16 games and throw a whopping 639 passes. So he deserves the benefit of the doubt when it comes to injuries and getting his body ready for the regular season. But Luck is now dealing with his second mysterious injury — this one a reported left calf strain that has forced him to miss seven straight practices, plus the first preseason game. Dave Birkett Detroit Free Press Published 8:08 PM EDT Apr 17, 2019 A lot can change in four months. It sure did last year. When the Detroit Lions’ schedule came out last April, I had the team going 9-7. Then I got a look at the team in training camp, saw how players were reacting to first-year coach Matt Patricia, and I promptly ratcheted down my expectations to 7-9 before the start of the season. Turns out, even that was too optimistic as the Lions won all of six games. With that in mind, here’s a way-too-early, don’t-hold-me-to-it, game-by-game prediction of what the Lions will do in 2019. Week 1: at Arizona Cardinals (4:25 p.m., Fox) – The Lions got housed in their opener by a rookie quarterback … [Read more...] about Detroit Lions 2019 schedule: Predicting every game
