Updated 6:10 pm CDT, Wednesday, May 15, 2019 HOUSTON (AP) — A Houston-based vendor is recalling select salads, wraps and salad bar trays sole through Whole Foods markets in Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana. In a statement Wedneday, GHSW LLC said it had decided on a recall over concerns that product labels failed to declare soy as a sub-ingredient of the mayonnaise used in the products. Consumers allergic to soy face the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they ate the products. However, no illnesses or injuries have been reported. The products were sold at two Whole Foods Markets 365 in Texas and at Whole Foods Markets in Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana. The products include two varieties of crudite bowls sold at Whole Foods Markets under its own brand, one with asparagus and bell peppers, the other with jicama and mini peppers. They also include store-branded classic potato salad, classic tuna salad wrap, smoked mozzarella pasta salad, … [Read more...] about Veggie products sold at Whole Foods Markets recalled

Sebastian Herrera Austin American-Statesman Published 4:47 PM EDT Apr 2, 2019 Whole Foods Market is set to cut prices this week on hundreds of items. The cuts, which will span product categories across stores but be primarily concentrated on in-season produce, will be some of the broadest seen at Whole Foods since Amazon’s $13.7 billion buyout in 2017. The price of organic strawberries, for example, will be lowered by $2 to $2.99, while air-chilled whole chicken will cost $1.79 per pound, a 40 percent saving, according to the company. The cuts will begin Wednesday, Whole Foods said. “The standards for how our products are sourced, grown and produced are powerful and set Whole Foods Market apart from the competition,” Whole Foods CEO John Mackey said in a written statement. “We will continue to focus on both lowering prices and bringing customers the quality they trust and the innovative assortment they expect from our brand.” This is not the first … [Read more...] about Whole Foods cutting prices on hundreds of items
Three rabbits found frostbitten and malnourished in a Whole Foods parking lot in Hyannis are now up for adoption at the MSPCA’s Cape Cod and Methuen shelters. Shelter officials suspect they were intentionally abandoned. Mary Sarah Fairweather, director of the MSPCA Cape Cod Animal Care and Adoption Center, said the frostbitten rabbits were also suffering from dehydration. “They were frozen when we found them, … and their skin was in terrible condition,” she said. “One of them needed eye surgery, and that actually took place in our Methuen adoption center.” All three rabbits were underweight by 2 pounds, meaning they wouldn’t have lasted much longer in the freezing temperatures, shelter officials say. Jackfruit, Seitan, Tempeh have gained weight and recovered from hair loss in the … [Read more...] about These 3 rabbits — abandoned in a Whole Foods parking lot — are looking for new homes

That's why you may be seeing the term "clean beauty" popping up more and more. The term "clean" can mean a lot of things, but at Whole Foods Market it refers to beauty products that are made without harmful ingredients like parabens, phthalates, microbeads, triclosan, BHT, BHA and aluminum chlorohydrate (see the full list of banned ingredients). 5 PHOTOS Whole Foods' 2019 beauty & wellness trends See Gallery Whole Foods' 2019 beauty & wellness trends Superfood Beauty Superfoods like matcha, spirulina, avocado, green tea, functional mushrooms and more are making their way into beauty products.
