Climate protesters try to “occupy” London city airport

London police dragged away several chanting and singing climate protesters on Thursday (Oct 10) who tried to "occupy" an international airport serving the British capital's global financial hub. Some protesters were wearing business suits AFP/DANIEL LEAL-OLIVAS Uniformed officers were seen dragging several Extinction Rebellion group demonstrators from outside London City Airport, although there was no immediate official tally of arrests. Campaigners, some of them in business suits, also staged a sit-in on the platform of the nearby overground train station. Others unfurled the group's trademark pink banner showing an hour glass - a symbol of time running out to save the planet from a "climate emergency". Private-sector competition in on-ground airport services would go a long way towards improving quality Vietnam's aviation market is gathering speed as more and more new players like Vietravel Airlines, Vinpearl Air, and KiteAir are entering the market. Additionally, some airline giants also want to exercise on-ground airport services to improve quality and competitiveness against other players. Recently, Vietjet was seeking permission from the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) to provide on-ground services at Noi Bai and Cam Ranh international airports from January 1, 2020. At Noi Bai, the air carrier has 18 aircraft, flying on 15 domestic and 16 international air routes with 150 flights a day on average. World War II-era bomber plane crashes outside Conn. airport

A World War II-era bomber plane, owned by a Stowe, Mass. non-profit organization, crashed at Bradley International Airport in Connecticut Wednesday morning, officials said. The Federal Aviation Administration tweeted that the vintage Boeing B-17 crashed at the end of Runway 6 while attempting to land at the airport in Windsor Locks, Conn., at 10 a.m. Wednesday. “It is a civilian registered aircraft, not flown by the military,” FAA officials said. “Local officials will release information about the people aboard. Officials have closed Bradley International Airport, and the FAA has put in a ground stop for flights that are destined for the airport.” Kathleen Bergen, a spokeswoman for the FAA, said the National Transportation Safety Board is in charge of the investigation.
